SYNOPSIS

Paranoia and anxieties build as two exhausted parents argue whether or not the loud screams they hear are that of their infant child or the Banshee of old Irish legend.

DIRECTOR BIO

Growing up in Downingtown, PA, Mike began making films at the age of 14, though he had been writing screenplays since he was 8, with no means to turn those ideas into reality until he was able to rent a camera from his High School Video Production Class.

DIRECTOR STATEMENT

"Banshee" is a very personal film for me. It was written roughly two months after my son was born.

Becoming new parents being the terrifyingly hilarious experience it is, I wrote the first draft of the script in one night in which my son was not sleeping well and would wake up screaming like a Banshee every two hours.  This story stems from those first few months of heightened tension while easing into our new roles as parents. Of course, it did not help that our neighbor would play music constantly either.
