**Jim Thorpe Independent Film Festival Returns May 1 - 4, 2025!**
*Jim Thorpe, PA* — The Jim Thorpe Independent Film Festival (JTIFF) is thrilled to announce its return to the historic Mauch Chunk Opera House for its 8th annual celebration, running from May 1 - 4, 2025. JTIFF is now accepting submissions through FilmFreeway and welcomes films of all genres and lengths.
Set in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania—one of the top tourism destinations in the U.S.—JTIFF brings together film lovers and filmmakers in a setting known for its historic charm and mountain beauty. Known as the "Switzerland of America," Jim Thorpe offers festival-goers an unforgettable experience with its Victorian architecture, galleries, and unique shops.
Dedicated to our credo, *“Eyes and Minds Wide Open,”* JTIFF presents a diverse, international selection of films. We pride ourselves on spotlighting emerging talent in our popular Student Block and celebrating the best of the region through our Local Heroes Block. Our famous Grindhouse Section returns Saturday night, showcasing bold, edgy cinema for cult film enthusiasts.
Now a 501(c)(3) non-profit, JTIFF is actively seeking partnerships to support independent filmmaking and our growing festival community. Founder Jocelyn O'Neil Morris reflected, “Each year, JTIFF grows bigger and more impactful—it’s truly astounding. It’s a testament to our dedicated staff, talented filmmakers, sponsors, and audience that we’ve created an incredible event that is here to stay.”
